How To Plump Your Lips.

Who wouldn’t want a voluminous pout that would rival Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley?

Don’t be fooled in to thinking your only options are expensive fillers, injections or over-the-counter lip plumpers.

And there’s no need to go down the road of copying Kylie Jenner. Have you seen that craze? Scores of teenagers have been suctioning their lips in shot glasses to mimic her pouty look. And let me tell you, the results are not pretty.

BUT…there is a natural way you can actually achieve voluptuous lips and it’s in your kitchen – no fillers required.

Cinnamon. Cinnamon is actually one of the main ingredients in those over-the-counter lip plumpers (along with a variety of toxins). Make your own lip plumper by mixing ground cinnamon, olive oil and a touch of sugar or salt. The cinnamon will cause the blood vessels to dilate and increase blood flow to the lips. Cinnamon brings all the nutrients to the surface so you should feel a tingling as it works its magic.

Cayenne pepper. This hot chili pepper will rival any expensive, painful injection to plump your lips. Just add a tiny pinch to a small pot of Vaseline and you’ll have lips that even Angelina would be jealous of. However, be warned, a little cayenne goes a LONG way so don’t use too much.

Exfoliate. Exfoliation is one of the most important aspects of any at home skin care routine. This includes your lips. Gently rub your lips with a dry toothbrush, which will improve their texture and their appearance. When you remove the dead skin cells, your lips will look and feel smoother and the blood flow will be stimulated making your lips look fuller.

Avoid dark shades. Darker shades of lipstick will flatten the appearance of your mouth instead of giving you the full luscious look you desire.

Exercise your lips. Face exercises are a great way of keeping aging at bay. But lip exercises will help your lips look fuller without any surgical procedures or chemical treatments. Just like any other fitness regimen, in order to tone up your facial muscles and get that perfect pout, you’ll need to practice a minimum of 3 times per week.

  • Whistle. Ever noticed how those who play instruments such as the trumpet have bigger lips? Well, it’s because they use their lip muscles. Aim for 3 minutes.
  • Big smile then big kiss. Smile as wide as you can for 5 seconds and then pucker up and hold the pose for another 5 seconds. Do this at least 20 times.
